Property PR at work: Lots of media interest in Greyfriars House

We've been working with Beatrice Knight of DDRE to help sell a fabulous Arts and Crafts mansion near Guildford.

Greyfriars House is a Grade II listed mansion, designed by Charles Voysey [1857-1941] who is considered the father of the Arts and Crafts movement, with gardens by the prominent garden designer Gertrude Jekyll [1843-1932]. The 27-acre estate, which is located on the outskirts of Guildford, was built in 1896 for the novelist and playwright Julian Sturgis whose many works include the libretto for the Sullivan opera Ivanhoe. Other owners include Philip Lyle of the sugar company Tate and Lyle.

Currently used as a private residence and wedding reception venue, Greyfriars boasts 15 bedrooms, nine bathrooms and many grand rooms including a magnificent reception hall and double-height drawing room. It also retains all the original Voysey features from heart-shaped keys to magnificent panelling.

It is on the market for £6 million (through DDRE).

Coverage to date includes Country Life, Prime Resi and Surrey World.
