The Hackney Draper
Handcrafted heaven
Amidst the hustle and bustle of Chatsworth Road in London’s fashionable Hackney, is a shop so enticing that it is impossible not to step inside.
The Hackney Draper is a eutopia of handmade homewares, globally sourced from international artisans and local craftsmen.
Here you will find Madagascan basketry, Japanese ceramics, French kitchen linens, Colombian glassware, Romanian ceramics, hand woven towels from Anatolia and Vietnamese Kanthas, many made by hand using traditional techniques passed down through generations.
Owned by renowned curtain-maker Pat Giddens, The Hackney Draper first opened its doors in 2014, providing locals with a source of beautiful fabrics and home furnishings curated both in the UK and from around the world. Inspired by Pat’s travels from her time living in Southern India, the vision was to create a one stop shop offering artisan fabrics and homewares made locally in the UK, alongside unique and original pieces from various corners of the globe.
